1299823 Antiskid braking systems SOC ANON DBA 13 May 1971 [20 May 1970] 14720/71 Headings F2E and F2F An antiskid braking system includes apparatus for providing an indication which represents the road-tyre adhesion of the vehicle. Signals which initiate isolation of the braking pressure from the wheel, during a braking application, are applied to the input of a pulse-width measuring circuit, the output of which is connected to indicating means in the form of red, green and yellow lamps. In a modification, Fig. 2, the theoretical braking distance is compared with the actual distance separating the vehicle from an obstacle such as a vehicle ahead. The output signals of the apparatus and of a speed indicator 2 are processed in a computer 3 which feeds an indicator 4 with signals proportional to the theoretical braking distance and a comparison circuit 5 simultaneously receives these signals and signals delivered by an acoustical or electromagnetic range finding device such as a radar device 6, the output of the circuit 5 being connected to a warning device 7.
